His Approach

The Diagnostician

Most doctors specialize in a body system, a modality, or a list of conditions. Dr. Saunders chose a different path.

"Rather than have a title as a specific type, or modality, of practice," he writes on his own bio, "I consider myself a diagnostician." His clinical philosophy follows directly from that: treatment without a clear root cause does more harm than good. Find what's actually wrong first. Then — and only then — decide what to do about it.

That orientation shapes how he formulates supplements for Barton Nutrition. Every product starts with a question about mechanism: what is the body actually doing wrong, and which clinically studied ingredients address it at meaningful doses? No proprietary blends hiding inactive ingredients. No kitchen-sink formulas.

Health can be restored, in most cases, when the cause is found.

17 Years with Barton

Joe Barton and Dr. Scott Saunders
Joe Barton and Dr. Scott Saunders, MD.

Joe Barton and Dr. Saunders met in October 2007, seated next to each other at a marketing conference. Joe was looking for a physician to back the natural health content his publishing company was producing. Dr. Saunders was looking for help getting his clinical work in front of more people.

The collaboration that started that morning has now run for more than 17 years. Dr. Saunders co-authored Barton Publishing's flagship Diabetes Solution Kit, contributed to the High Blood Pressure Solution Kit, and personally selected the additions of Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2, Selenium, and Vanadium that turned the original CinnaChroma formula into the 6-in-1 blood sugar support product it is today.

Every supplement currently in the Barton Nutrition catalog is formulated under his direct guidance, with clinically studied ingredients at clinically studied doses. He also co-hosts Barton Publishing's weekly live Q&A webinar with Joe Barton — Wednesdays at 1pm Central.
